VIDEO: Dave Grohl Unleashes the Beast Within in Official ‘Studio 666’ Trailer

Foo Fighters-focused supernatural horror comedy debuts Feb. 25

January 13, 2022

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is literally hellbent on making new music in the official trailer for the band’s upcoming horror comedy “Studio 666.”

The repeat Stern Show guests and recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees star as themselves in the supernatural slasher flick, which sees the guys set out to lay down their 10th studio album in what turns out to be a haunted Southern California estate. The recording process gets off to a smooth start, but the band soon finds itself by more than just the spirit of rock and roll. All hell eventually breaks loose after Dave is taken over by a music-loving, man-eating, murderous demon.

“Dude has gone ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ crazy,” guitarist Pat Smear remarks (above) as evil Dave flies through the mansion, threatening to barbecue him and bandmates Taylor Hawkins, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee, and Nate Mendel.

Directed by BJ McDonell (“Hatchet III”) and written by Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes—with the story credit going to Grohl—“Studio 666” also co-stars Will Forte, Jeff Garlin, Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Kerry King, and Jenna Ortega as well as recording legend Lionel Richie.

“Studio 666” slashes its way into theaters Feb. 25
