Bruce Springsteen Drops Lyric Video for Tribute Song ‘Ghosts’

Tune is the second single off the rock legend’s upcoming album ‘Letter to You’

September 25, 2020

One of America’s most enduring musicians pays tribute to lost bandmates in “Ghosts,” the second single off Bruce Springsteen’s October album “Letter to You.”

The impactful track celebrates not only musicians who passed away but also the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll itself with the Boss singing about vintage guitars and past concerts as longtime E Street band member Steve Van Zandt provides backup vocals. Thom Zimny directed the lyric video which blends concert footage from years gone by with contemporary shots of Bruce and his band recording the new record.

Like the rest of “Letter to You,” “Ghosts” was recorded last year at Bruce’s New Jersey estate. “It’s the only album where it’s the entire band playing at one time … with all the vocals and everything completely live,” Springsteen said in a statement. “Letter to You” is the rock icon’s 20th studio album and his first featuring the E Street Band since “High Hopes” in 2014.

Bruce Springsteen’s “Letter to You” arrives Oct. 23.
