Lady Gaga’s Stylist Glued Her Underwear to Her ‘You Know What’ on ‘SNL’

Pop icon also tells Howard how she landed her leading role in “A Star Is Born”

Lady Gaga returned to the Stern Show on Monday morning and shared a slew of behind-the-scenes stories from this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live.” Gaga, whose new album “Joanne” is out now, was the musical guest on “SNL” and told Howard how her stylist Brandon took a special precaution with her underwear that she wasn’t even aware of until after the performance was over.

“He from time to time will glue my underwear to my, um, you know what,” Gaga explained. Fearing her outfit might not keep her covered through the entire song, Gaga’s stylist added an adhesive but forgot to tell her. “He didn’t tell me so he just did it and then when the show was over I went to the bathroom and I’m like, ‘What the fuck? I can’t get my underwear off,'” she told Howard.

Howard wondered what her stylist even uses to hold her underwear in place. “I don’t know, it’s pussy glue,” Gaga said. “Can I say that on the radio?”

For her second “SNL” performance of the night, Gaga sat at the piano and sang her new song, “A Million Reasons.” As the song came to a close and the show cut to commercial, Gaga admitted to Howard she broke down in tears.

“It was just such a release,” she explained. “I’ve been waiting three years to put out a pop album.” As she walked off stage, she ran into both Bradley Cooper and Dave Chappelle who consoled her.

“It was just kind of really sweet. They both gave me a big hug,” Gaga said. She and Bradley will soon star in the remake of “A Star Is Born” (which Cooper is also directing). Even with her Golden Globe-winning stint on “American Horror Story” Gaga told Howard she was asked to audition for her part in the movie.

“I showed my stuff and I got the job,” she said. “It feels good to work for something. Once you make it, in a way, it’s less fun when everybody just hands you shit.”

Gaga could offer few details about the upcoming film, but when asked if she and Bradley might fall in love off camera, she told Howard that wasn’t a possibility. “If you really love somebody, you put the most important thing first, and that is the film,” she explained, saying her focus is only on making as good a film as she can.

Aside from starring in movies, Lady Gaga will also be the star at this season’s Super Bowl halftime show. She told Howard how it was the NFL that contacted her about possibly playing on arguably the biggest stage in the world.

“The NFL wanted to talk to us about doing the halftime show but they wanted to hear the new record,” Gaga said. “It was the record that sealed the deal.” She also explained the league doesn’t pay her and she doesn’t pay the league for the opportunity to perform, but playing at the Super Bowl is all the incentive she needs.

Howard had to ask: is there any chance she’ll have a wardrobe malfunction similar to Janet Jackson’s in 2004.

“There’s no way,” Gaga answered. After all, she uses glue to prevent that sort of thing from happening.
