VIDEO: Margot Robbie Reprises Her Harley Quinn Role in ‘Birds of Prey’ Trailer

Latest DC Universe flick set for February 2020 release

“You know what a harlequin is?” Margot Robbie asks as Harley Quinn in the first “Birds of Prey” trailer. “A harlequin’s role is to serve. It’s nothin’ without a master.”

With the full title of “Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn,” director Cathy Yan (“Dead Pigs”), sets to help Quinn break free from the restraints of ex-love Joker. Along with a gang of female superheroes including Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress and Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary plus Rosie Perez as Detective Renee Montoya, the Suicide Squad member is ready to take on Gotham.

As the group takes on villain Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) in a quest to save a young Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) from peril, absolute mayhem ensues. A companion to the 2016 Warner Bros.’ DC Comics release “Suicide Squad.” the film also stars Chris Messina and Ali Wong.

Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn” opens Feb. 7.
