Jack Miller, the Swap Shop host who for years endured phony phone calls from Richard Christy and Sal Governale, has died. He was 84.  “I love that guy, I loved him,” Howard said Tuesday morning after hearing the D.J. refer to one of the staffers as an “idiot”—which eventually became a popular Stern Show audio drop. “Jack was right—they are idiots.”

Born in 1934 and eventually attending broadcasting school in Nashville, Jack’s first radio jobs were in Tennessee and Louisiana before he eventually landed at the home of Swap Shop, Tabor City, NC’s WTAB—of which he was also an owner. “We want to honor Jack and just say thank you for putting up with Richard and Sal and we always celebrate the life of a fellow broadcaster,” Howard noted before playing some of Jack’s best Stern Show moments.
