Marvel has released the first teaser for “Black Widow,” the studio’s long-anticipated standalone film chronicling past adventures of Scarlett Johansson’s beloved, butt-kicking Avenger.

Directed by Cate Shortland (“SMILF”), the prequel follows Natasha Romanov (Johansson)—a.k.a. Black Widow—as she takes a leave from the Avengers to return to Russia and reunite with a group of different heroes.

“I’ve lived a lot of lives, but I’m done running from my past,” Johansson’s character explains (above) over a montage of explosions, stunts, and martial artistry as well as hints about her formative years at a K.G.B. spy school.

Set between the events of “Captain America: Civil War” and “Avengers: Infinity War,” the film gives Scarlett the chance to once more reprise the character who met a tragic fate in last year’s franchise-altering “Endgame.” The trailer shows her and a new band of heroes—including Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Iron Maiden (Rachel Weisz), and Red Guardian (“Stranger Things” star David Harbour), Russia’s answer to Captain America—taking on the famed Marvel villain Taskmaster.

The clip also offers glimpses of several of Black Widow’s past allies, including fellow Stern Show veterans Samuel L. Jackson and Jeremy Renner as Nick Fury and Hawkeye, respectively. Rumor has it Robert Downey Jr. may make a “Black Widow” cameo, too, though he isn’t shown in the teaser.

Scarlett and Howard covered a wide range of topics during her 2017 Stern Show debut, from crushing on celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay to her breakout role opposite Bill Murray in “Lost in Translation.” She also opened up about some roles she didn’t get in Hollywood. Check out a clip from the interview here.

“Black Widow” opens May 1.
