Earth’s mightiest heroes gain a powerful ally in the official trailer for “Avengers: Endgame,” Marvel’s “Infinity War” follow-up arriving in April, and she seems to be hitting it off with Thor.

Released Thursday, the new clip begins with the surviving Avengers—including Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Captain America (Chris Evans), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and War Machine (Don Cheadle)— regrouping after getting shellacked by Thanos. They’ve lost a crucial battle but refuse to abandon the war.

“I know I said no more surprises, but I was really hoping to pull off one last one,” Downey Jr.’s character says in a cryptic message for his wife, Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow).

While many Avengers were taken off the board in the last film, the remaining few are mercifully assisted by several familiar faces, including past Stern Show guests Paul Rudd and Jeremy Renner as Ant-Man and Hawkeye, respectively. They also get help from one of the universe’s most powerful heroes in Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), who joins the team after making her debut in last week’s “Captain Marvel.” Though she’s only in the “Endgame” trailer for a hot second, it’s long enough to tease some chemistry between her and Thor.

“I like this one,” Hemsworth’s character tells her with a laugh after impressing her with his magic axe.

“Avengers: Endgame” arrives April 26.
